School Home Communication

Parent-Teacher Conferences and Report Cards

It is essential that parents attend parent-teacher conferences to learn about their child's progress in school.  Teachers schedule conferences for all students in November.  In March conferences are only automatically scheduled for struggling students; however, all parents may request a conference.

Report cards are distributed three times a year in November, March, and June. Minimum days are scheduled during the first two reporting periods for parent-teacher-student conferences. Depending on the age of your child, he or she may be expected to attend the conference. Although parent conferences occur in November and March, a conference to discuss your child's progress may be scheduled at any time with the teacher.

Parent/Guardian Contact Information

In case of illness, accident, or other emergency, the school will attempt to contact a child's parent or guardian. Please make sure the school has current contact information, including home, work, and cell phone numbers. In addition, be sure to keep the office informed of any changes in emergency contacts or childcare arrangements.

School Information via email

We have many events for families.  All communication is sent home electronically using the SMORE Newsletter.  If you are not receiving SMORE communications from Jerabek administration, please contact the office to ensure that we have your correct email address. You may also email at [email protected].

Facts for Parents

At the beginning of the school year, each student receives a copy of San Diego Unified School District's Facts for Parents publication:

Facts for Parents is a yearly publication that contains essential information about the district. It includes:

  • Basic information about the school district.
  • Parent rights and responsibilities.
  • High school graduation requirements.

  • The district's Zero Tolerance Policy, prohibits weapons, violence, drugs, alcohol, and tobacco at school.

  • Disclosures required by state or federal law.

Parents are encouraged to review the information with their children. Several forms in the back must be signed by a parent or guardian and returned to their child's teacher or other designated person at the school.
